Gastric Sleeve
Gastric sleeve surgery, also known as sleeve gastrectomy, is a procedure that reduces the amount of food you can eat before feeling full. During the gastric sleeve procedure, your surgeon will remove a large portion of the stomach. The resulting "gastric sleeve" will be approximately the size of a banana. Because patients reduce their food intake, they can expect to experience dramatic weight loss, potentially losing 50 percent or more of their excess weight. In some circumstances, your surgeon can perform this surgery with the advanced single-incision technique.
Gastric Bypass
Gastric bypass is a restrictive and malabsorptive procedure, meaning it reduces the amount of food you can eat and limits your body's ability to absorb calories. LAP-BAND
LAP-BAND® surgery, also known as gastric banding, is the least invasive weight loss surgery that our practice provides in Guadalajara, Mexico. Patients like the LAP-BAND procedure because it does not involve the alteration of any internal organs. Also, it is both adjustable and reversible. Gastric banding involves placing a silicone ring around the stomach. The ring can then be inflated with saline fluid to restrict the capacity of the stomach. Patients will feel full after eating less food, which can potentially lead to gradual weight loss.
Revision Surgery
Sometimes, patients who undergo a gastric or metabolic procedure don't achieve their weight loss goals. Other patients may experience rapid weight loss before plateauing or regaining weight. Will I have a scar after bariatric surgery?
Because we almost always use laparoscopic methods, the resulting scars from weight loss surgery are small and discreet.
