Dr. Alejandro Lopez received advanced fellowship training in weight loss surgery at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Lopez is now the Medical Director of Alo Bariatrics in Mexico. He has broad experience in laparoscopic surgery and extensive operating room technical expertise for bariatric procedures, including laparoscopic gastric bypass, adjustable gastric banding (Lap-Band®), sleeve gastrectomy, bariatric revision procedures, and gastric plication.

Dr. Lopez has performed over 5,000 bariatric surgery procedures since 2005 and has received numerous awards for his work in bariatric surgery. Dr. Lopez grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico and received his Medical degree from the University of Guadalajara. His residency in general surgery was completed at Western National Medical Center. IMSS. He then began fellowship training at Cook County Hospital Chicago Il.
